Anand Mela and Sports Day 2025-26: A Celebration of Joy, Unity and Sporting Spirit

Sadhu Vaswani School, Ahmedabad joyously celebrated its much-awaited Anand Mela – a vibrant festival of food, fun and delight – along with the Annual Sports Day on 12th and 13th December 2025. The two-day extravaganza brought together students, teachers, parents and alumni in a colourful display of talent, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Day 1: 12th December 2025 (Friday)

Anand Mela (for the entire school) & Sports Day (Pre-Primary Section)

The festivities began on 12th December with the lively Anand Mela, where stalls brimming with delicious food, exciting games and creative study-models lined the school ground, creating an atmosphere of pure delight. Alongside, the tiny tots of the Pre-Primary section celebrated their Sports Day with infectious energy.

The formal programme commenced with a soulful Prayer Song, followed by a disciplined March Past. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Sunita Khosla, an ex-teacher of the school, was warmly felicitated. The little stars of the Pre-Primary section mesmerised everyone with their adorable dance performances. Mrs. Khosla addressed the gathering, sharing words of wisdom and appreciation that left the audience inspired.

Dance performance on “Achutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram…” by the students of secondary section captivated the audience and created an ambience of divinity.

The magic show organised specifically for the tiny tots’ added extra joy to the celebration and mesmerized one and all witnessing the show.

The programme concluded with the singing of National Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Day 2: 13th December 2025 (Saturday)

Sports Day (Primary, Secondary & Higher Secondary Section)

The second day witnessed the grand Annual Sports Day for students from Primary to Higher Secondary sections. The event was graced by Mrs. Aruna J. Tyagi, another distinguished ex-teacher of Sadhu Vaswani School, who added warmth and nostalgia to the occasion.

The programme unfolded with the rendition of the Prayer Song and the School Anthem, followed by an impressive March Past and a graceful Yoga Performance. The ceremonial Flag Hoisting and Lighting of the Torch marked the official beginning, after which the Chief Guest was extended a heartfelt welcome. The Sports Captain took the solemn Oath, and the Sports Meet was declared open amidst thunderous applause.

Students showcased exceptional athletic prowess in a variety of track and field events, displaying teamwork, determination and sportsman spirit. After an exhilarating day of competitions, Mrs. Aruna J. Tyagi delivered an inspiring speech, motivating the young athletes to pursue excellence both on and off the field.

Certificates were given to the winners of each game and trophies of Sports boy and Sports Girl was given to Gautam Gohil and Manya Lulla respectively.

The day concluded with the Declaration of the Sports Fest Closed, Lowering of the Flag, a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, and the singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

The Anand Mela and Sports Day 2025-26 will be fondly remembered as a perfect blend of celebration, camaraderie and healthy competition – truly reflecting the spirit of Sadhu Vaswani School!
