Peace March organized by Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Ahmedabad on 23.11.2024, to campaign for the International Meatless Day and Animal Rights Day on 25th November.
Ahmedabad Centre organized the peace march to campaign for observing the Meatless and Animal Rights Day, on Saturday, 23nd November, 2024 to commemorate Rev. Sadhu T. L. Vaswani’s 145th Birthday at Sadhu Vaswani Sadhu Vaswani School, Sardarnagar, Ahmedabad at 9.30 am.
Shri. Shailesh Kumar Patel- Prant Karyawah, RSS, Gujarat- attended the function as the Chief Guest.
Smt. Pratibhaben Jain – Hon’ble Mayor, AMC was invited as the Guest of Honour. Other dignities who graced the event & flagged the Peace March were Dr. Payalben Kukrani (MLA- Naroda), Shri DevangbhaiDani (Hon’ble Chairman, Standing Committee-AMC),
Shri Jayeshbhai Trivedi (Hon’ble Chairman – Recreational Cultural and Heritage Committee- AMC) & Hon’ble Municipal Councillors of Sardarnagar ward. The Peace March was joined by Representatives of various NGO/Panchayat, members of the mission, teachers & students of various schools, professionals and followers of Sadhu Vaswani from all over Ahmedabad. Before the commencement of Peace March significance of observing Meatless Day was explained to the participants, who unanimously took pledge to go meatless.
On 25th Nov, 2024, haven was held at Sadhu Vaswani Udhyan from 8: 00AM. To 9:30 AM.
It was graced by the Chief Guest Shri Jayeshbhai. A stone – Plaque depicting the life and achievements of Sadhu T. L. Vaswani was unveiled by Shri Trivedi. It was followed by distributing ration–kit to safed posh families and prasadi distribution to everyone.
From 11:15 AM. To 12:30 PM., Bajans & kirtan, chanting of hymns and discourse of Dadaji was played for the devotees gathered in the Sanctuary Hall in the school campus.
Standing Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has supported the campaign by passing resolution to close all the slaughter houses in municipal limits on 25th November. As many as 1,11,594 persons submitted the pledge forms to observe meatless day on 25th November and 8,14,16,410 persons supported the cause of Meatless Day, making the Meatless Day celebrations a grand success.
