2nd August 2026 was celebrated as Forgiveness Day globally. The day also marked the 108th birth anniversary of revered Dada J. P. Vaswani. Devotees gathered with deep devotion at the Sanctuary Hall of Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Sardarnagar, Ahmedabad, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to commemorate this sacred occasion.

The Programme

The celebration began with a solemn havan, which filled the entire hall with a sense of purity and reverence. Thereafter, Geeta Jo Barho Adhyay was played on the panel in Dadaji’s own voice, deeply moving all present.

This was followed by vanchan from Shri Sukhmani Saheb. Devotees then sang soulful bhajans, creating a lively yet deeply pious atmosphere in the hall.

A diya was lit, and Dadaji’s aarti “Jai Dada Jai Ho…” was sung with heartfelt devotion. Vanchan from Noori Granth and Anjali Sangrah was then conducted, after which a video updesh of Dadaji was played for the gathering.

Symbol of Forgiveness

In a meaningful gesture that embodied Dadaji’s timeless ideology, devotees tied forgiveness bands to one another. This simple yet profound act symbolised the spirit of forgiving one and all, thereby leading a life of peace, harmony and happiness.

Bhajans continued to fill the air as the programme progressed, keeping the atmosphere vibrant and sacred.

Culmination

At 2:00 p.m. sharp, a cake was cut to mark the joyous occasion. Devotees then partook of prasadi in the form of a sumptuous lunch. As a thoughtful gift, a handbook of the Bhagavad Gita was distributed to one and all present.

The celebration of Forgiveness Day at Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Sardarnagar, was a beautiful reminder of Dada J. P. Vaswani’s message of love, forgiveness and spiritual living. The gathering left devotees enriched, inspired and filled with a renewed resolve to walk the path of forgiveness in their daily lives.
