An educational trip to the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha in Gandhinagar was organised by Sadhu Vaswani School for the students of Standards VI to XI. Around 50 students participated in this educational visit.

The main objective of the visit was to help students understand the functioning of the legislative assembly and to observe the democratic process in action. After reaching the Vidhan Sabha and completing the necessary entry formalities, the students were taken inside the Assembly Hall.

During the visit, the students got a rare opportunity to witness a live debate session between members of the ruling party and the opposition parties. Observing the discussion and arguments between the leaders gave the students a practical understanding of how laws and policies are discussed and debated in the state legislature. This experience proved to be very informative and memorable for everyone.

The students also had the opportunity to interact with Ms. Rivaba Jadeja,  member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Jamnagar North and Minister of State for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education in the Government of Gujarat.

Students also met Dr. Payal Kukrani (member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Naroda Assembly constituency, Ahmedabad since December 2022), who warmly interacted with them during the visit. The students clicked photographs with both dignitaries, which became one of the highlights of the trip.

Before leaving the Vidhan Sabha premises, the students were treated to ice cream, which added a pleasant ending to the educational visit.

The visit to the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha was a highly enriching experience. It helped students gain practical knowledge about the functioning of democracy and inspired them to take greater interest in civic and political processes.
