On 11th December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. Since then, it is celebrated on the 21st of June every year. It aims to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of practicing Yoga and encourage people around the world to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It serves as a reminder of the importance of physical and mental well-being and highlights the role of Yoga in achieving that balance.

This year, the theme for Yoga Day is, “Yoga for Self and Society,” . It highlights how yoga not only enhances personal health but also contributes to social well-being.
