The 11th International Yoga Day, celebrated on June 21, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the global embrace of yoga, an ancient Indian practice that unites mind, body, and spirit. Initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 2014 UN General Assembly address, the United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day with overwhelming support from 177 nations. Since its inception in 2015, this day has grown into a worldwide movement, promoting holistic well-being and sustainable living.
Theme and Significance
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” underscores the interconnectedness of personal wellness and planetary health. The school invited Ms. Palak Mulchandani for systematic protocol-wise yoga to be carried out in school. It began with warm-up exercise followed by various yoga asanas wherein the importance significance of each asana was also shared with the students. Finally it ended with standing dance by the students.
All in all a mesmerising experience for the students and the teachers.
